We were obsessed with the question of why, in the first place, women are excellent home administrators and why we hesitate to envisage them excelling in other streams.
Perhaps, history offers an explanation, and that is that the women used to remain in the caves, and the men used to go outside for hunting, and we would all agree that, therefore, the men, due to their act of hunting, which fed the family, developed both leadership skills and organization skills outside the home, and at the same time, developed a command over the family, as their hunting was feeding the family. The women were in charge of the home but I am afraid whether the women could have decided or spoken over the men, who were the feeders unlike the women, who were the cookers.
Now, therefore, what we find is that women from the very beginning, that is when we were not the human that we are now, did not get the opportunity to thrive in anything except homemaking, as it appears the status of home administrators, that we want to attribute to them, may not be correct, as the men were the family-feeder.
The state of affairs took a turn when kingdoms ruled by the kings, were attacked and Kings died, and the queens had to then save the kingdom, and from therein started the expedition of women, which is not homemaking or child-rearing, but leading the army.
Fast-forwarding things, we see that World War 2, which killed innumerable men in the war, brought women into the workforce, for maintaining their families, and that sowed seeds of women's active participation in today's world.
Why we are trying to persuade you to visit all these things, is the fact that then you could fathom that the women were confined to home, whereas the men were unleashed, which made the men lead the world, and therefore, it is not that the women have biologically inbuilt in them, the capability to organize and decorate the home and rear children, but it is the past that has made them inherit such capability.
Therefore, we do not know whether it is biologically possible for women to stand equal to men, but women, in opportunities, can stand equal to men. Therefore, the Women's Day celebration should be a day for introspection, and I would say that every day should be a self-introspection day for the world as to whether in advancing opportunities for humans, we consider men and women as humans or men as men and women as women.
Wishing a self and world-introspecting Women's Day.
