The Drain turned 1 this month and we thank you, our wonderful readers for being a part of this beautiful journey. Thank you all for helping us reach this milestone. We will continue to bring useful journalism to your pockets.
We are a news, analysis, opinion and information initiative. We shed light on the overlooked stories which are shaping and will shape the contemporary world.
It aims to bring out stories which are usually ditched and drained by the mainstream media, but are of utmost importance to the public at large.
From the writers of The Drain
The idea of The Drain came to me through my blogs under the name Siddhant Vichar. During the pandemic I found journalism interesting and a field where I feel I can do something. And that's how The Drain came into existence.Whenever I refer to The Drain, I write 'we' which wasn't actually true until Hritam joined it in June 2021. He was the one behind the amazing articles we have published in recent months. In this new age of digital media, The Drain is an experiment which seems to be working. It always tries to bring the drained but useful stories to its readers, who are our sole inspiration to keep going.
—Siddhant Sharma, Editor
In the year 1605, the first printed weekly newspaper 'Relation' was published and the ensuing advent of radio, the first electronic media, in the year 1905 and since then the ever-growing transformation from print to electronic has germinated seeds of digital media like 'The Drain'.I came across Siddhant sometime in May 2021 and officially became a limb of the Drain on June 19, 2021.The existing viewers are our ‘fuel’ and the ‘would be’ ones are our ‘faith’ and to sustain we want the former not to ‘disappear’ and the latter to give a try on us.
