Karnataka Vidhan Parishad Deputy Chairman and a member of Janata Dal (Secular), S L Dharmegowda was found dead on a railway track near Kadur of Chikkamagaluru in Karnataka on Tuesday. A suicide note was also recovered along with the body.
The dead body had been taken to the Shimoga government hospital for further investigation.
IGP West said that the matter is under investigation. There was a death note recovered from the site, but cannot give out it's details.
The State Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai said, "Around 6.30 pm yesterday, Dharmegowda told his PA and driver that he is going to receive someone but didn't come back by 8.45 pm when the police were informed. Police tracked the phone near the railway track. The body was found around 1.30 am."
Just 2 weeks ago in the State's Vidhan Parishad, BJP-JDS and Congress members were hurling abuses and pushing each other and Dharmegowda was pulled down from the Chairman's seat over a row pertaining to the no-confidence motion sought to be moved against Chairman K Pratapachandra Shetty.
