Farmers protesting against the Centre's new farm laws on Sunday said they are ready for talks with the government but will not accept any of their conditions.
Surjeet S Phul, President, BKU Krantikari (Punjab) said, "Instead of going to open jail in Burari, we've decided that we will gherao Delhi by blocking 5 main entry points to Delhi. We've got 4 months ration with us, so nothing to worry. Our Operations Committee will decide everything."
He made it clear that they won't allow any political party to speak on their stage. He also apologised to the media for misbehaviour with them by a few protesters unknowingly. He said that after every meeting, an official press note will be released by them for the media.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah had appealed to the farmers to shift to the Burari ground instead of protesting at Singhu and Tikri border points, and also said that the Centre will hold discussions with them as soon as they move to the designated place.
A delegation of the farmers has been invited for a discussion on December 3. The farmers have no intentions to shift, instead they want to protest at Jantar Mantar.
