The Ookla Speedtest Global Index ranks India 131 out of 138 in the global mobile internet speed rankings.
The global average download speed is 35.26 Mbps and India's average download speed is of only 12.07 Mbps. The global average upload speed is 11.22 Mbps and latency is 42 ms, India's average upload speed is of 4.31 Mbps and higher latency of 52 ms.
India's neighbouring countries ranked higher in the global index. Sri Lanka ranked 102, Pakistan ranked 116 and Nepal at 117.
South Korea topped the list with average mobile internet speed, double that of fixed broadband speed in India.
